ACNP - Catalogo Italiano dei Periodici contains bibliographic records for periodical publications held in collections throughout Italy and in all subject areas.

Biblioteca di Archeologia e Storia dell’Arte (Palazzo Venezia)

Although the current holdings of the Biblioteca di Archeologia e Storia dell’Arte in Palazzo Venezia are accessible through the SBN catalog, older titles must be searched in their digitized catalogs. The author catalog includes material added to the collection between 1922 and 1991, while the subject catalogue covers the period from 1922 to 1998. Other specialized catalogues are available to the interested user.

The L’OPAC SBN is the online public access catalog of the Italian National Library Service (national union catalog).

Polo Bibliotecario Parlamentare

The libraries of the chamber of deputies and of the senate are joined in the Polo Bibliotecario Parlamentare. The two libraries are publicly accessible and form one of the most important research libraries in Italy, with over 2.1 million volumes, thousands of journals subscriptions, ebooks and online databases, and rich rare and specialized holdings. The special collections at the Biblioteca della Camera include extremely rich holdings in topics ranging from the topography and history of the city of Rome from the sixteenth through the nineteenth century, to one of the most important collections documenting the Fascist period, and the legal and political history of Italy. The rare and specialized holdings at the Biblioteca del Senato include particular strong collections in the legal and constitutional history of Italy, as well as local Italian history from the middle ages through today, and the personal papers of important political and cultural figures of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

The Vatican Library holds approximately 1,600,000 printed books, predominantly old and rare, including 8,600 incunabula, and 75,000 codices, as well as inestimable archival collections.

The Karlsruhe Virtual Catalog is a meta search interface which allows you to access library catalogues via the web. It gives access to more than 75 million books and serials titles from collections throughout Europe and North America.

Libweb lists over 8,000 pages from libraries in over 146 countries.
