David M. Childs (2024 Resident, Trustee Emeritus), an architect who designed many buildings in New York—including 1 World Trade Center, Moynihan Train Hall at Penn Station, and Time Warner Center—with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, died on March 26 at age 83. Childs, who served two years as chair of the Academy’s Board of Trustees (2006–8), also led the centenary renovation of our McKim, Mead & White Building in 1994.
