Dana Tang’s career in architecture exemplifies the power of thoughtful design and meticulous planning. Joining our 2017 Resident Richard Gluckman’s renowned firm in 1995, Tang established herself as an indispensable force, becoming a partner in 2015. Her expertise is rooted in a deep understanding of programming, planning, and predesign. 

For the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, and the Mori Arts Center, Tang provided more than just architectural plans—she offered a vision that aligned with the unique needs and aspirations of each institution. Her approach, characterized by a keen sensitivity to context and function, ensures that every project she touches is not just a building, but a dynamic space that enriches its surroundings.

In the realm of academia, Tang has left an indelible mark with projects like the Korman Center at Drexel University and the Zhejiang University Museum of Art and Archaeology. These projects showcase her ability to blend innovation with tradition, creating environments that inspire learning and foster intellectual growth. Her work in China, particularly, stands out for its scale and ambition. The award-winning Mii Amo Spa and the Trail House at Enchantment Resort, both in Arizona, demonstrate how she harmonizes architecture with nature, crafting serene retreats that offer a profound sense of place.

Educated at Yale University, where she earned her MArch, and Harvard University, where she obtained a master of regional studies in East Asia, Tang is a fellow of the Urban Design Forum and serves on the Yale School of Architecture Dean’s Advisory Council, roles that reflect her ongoing commitment to shaping the future of architecture.
