This project uses time in Rome to create a body of work using the history of protest in the city of Rome as its subject matter. Given that the women of Rome took to the streets in 195 BC and again in 42 BC, I anticipate a good amount of material to work with, and this project draws equally from ancient and contemporary sources. In this artwork, I’m weaving together the threads of people’s lives from the ancient to the present. All the themes of my research will be distilled in this project, including the infinite stories of those around me.
