Join us for an evening with American Academy in Rome Fellows, Residents, Affiliated Fellows, Trustees, and friends as we bring the long tables of the Academy’s Cortile in Rome to New York for the 2012 Cabaret. This gathering is an opportunity to connect with new and old friends and to support the Kieran-Timberlake Permissions Associate Endowment, listen to wonderful performances by Laurie Anderson (2006 Resident) and Don Byron (2010 Fellow) and experience a delicious meal prepared by Mona Talbott, the founding chef of the Rome Sustainable Food Project. Please purchase tickets by Monday, November 26 (a limited number will be available at $50 each).
What is the Stephen J. Kieran and James Timberlake Permissions Associate?
Nearly five years ago, the architects Stephen J. Kieran (1981 Fellow) and James Timberlake (1983 Fellow)—of the Philadelphia-based firm KieranTimberlake—contacted the Academy with an idea. The kernel of this vision stemmed from a box of sketches that they keep in their office. They realized that these drawings, all done during their time at the Academy, continued to inspire their work nearly a quarter of a century later. Like many members of the Academy community, their experience was enhanced by the access they gained to archives, sites, and monuments all made possible by the work of the permissions associate at the AAR.
Wine provided by Vino Fino at Grand Vin, Principe Pallavicini, and Mandrarossa.
