The exhibition will show photographs from various institutions across Rome including Soprintendenze, museums, Italian and foreign institutions, and the Vatican Museums. The Photographic Archive of the American Academy in Rome will be contributing to the exhibition Alfabeto Fotografico Romano with original photographic prints from the Parker collection (1866–79), the Van Deman collection (1898–1930), the Beato collection (1860–1962), the Detweiler collection (1930–39), the Masson collection (1950–65), and the Fototeca Unione collection (1957–    ).
