The Death Of Klinghoffer by John Adams, RAAR 1988
The Metropolitan Opera
John Adams’ brilliant and controversial opera The Death of Klinghoffer opened at the Met in late October. Based on the murder of Leon Klinghoffer during the hijacking of the Achille Lauro in 1985, it has been drawing attention on all sides, from picketers outside the theater to a statement from Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg. The Met announced that ticket sales are very good.
