The architect Diane Lewis died on May 2, 2017, in New York. When he heard of her death Richard Meier, a 1974 Resident, said, “At the center of her pursuit of a moral ideal for the profession of architecture is a bold willingness to interrogate the most fundamental elements of history and civilization.”
The death of Lewis was announced in an obituary by Olivia Martin in the Architects Newspaper. She was born in 1951 and received the Rome Prize in architecture in 1977.
