In Rome, Dennis Y Ichiyama will continue his research on historic wood type, focusing on the documentation, preservation, and experimentation of these artifacts. This research will coincide with a printed project in conjunction with the Tipoteca Italiana Fondazione in Treviso. Ichiyama’s study of wood types began six years ago with his association with the Hamilton Manufacturing Company in Wisconsin, the last major commercial producer of wood type in America.
