The second day of a three-day conference celebrating the memory of renowned Latinist, Italianist, and Comparatist Ettore Paratore. Scholars of the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the modern period as well as an international cast of comparatists will examine a range of topics including myth, folklore, utopia, classicism, heroic narrative, and ideas of eternity from a longue duree perspective, with particular attention to continuities and fractures in the development of literature and culture.
