Nuova Consonanza - Festa d’Autunno

The American Academy in Rome hosts one day of the 50th/51st annual Festa d’Autunno organized by Nuova Consonanza. Among the highlights in the program to be presented at Villa Aurelia are the premieres of two operas. The first is L’aggiustafavole for soprano, tenor, baritone and chamber orchestra, composed by Paolo Marchettini based on an original text by Elio Pecora. The second is Il dottor Vetrata, with music by Giovanni Guaccero inspired by a text written by Francesco Maschio freely adapted from one of the 12 novelle esemplari by Miguel de Cervantes. The director is Sandra Del Maro. Both operas will feature the young singers Damiana Mizzi, soprano, Gianluca Bocchino, tenor and the Gruppo Musica d’Oggi, directed by Enrico Marocchini.

Among the artists performing in this edition of the Nuova Consonanza festival are the flutist Gianni Trovalusci, the Flute Ensemble NicolaSala, as well as the talented young flutist Paolo Vignaroli performing music by Goffredo Petrassi, Elliott Carter, Guido Baggiani, Silvia Lanzalone and a world premier of a work by young composers Simone Pappalardo and Sofia Avramidou. The Trio Imago Sonora and the guitarist Luigi Attademo will interpret music by Niccolò Paganini, Domenico Guaccero, Alessando Solbiati, Daniele Bravi, in addition to Andy Akiho and Paula Matthusen, both current Fellows in Musical Composition at the American Academy in Rome.
