Shrinkage: Landscape, Agrarian Urbanism, and the Roman Disabitato
Descrizione del progetto

Charles Waldheim’s work in Rome will be a continuation of his research on the role of landscape as an element of urban order in the context of a shrinking urban population. He will specifically focus on the ancient Roman disabitato, a particular instance of Roman depopulation ca. 180 AD. The findings will contribute toward a book-length study on agrarian models for urbanism.
