Fellows’ Open Studios and Reading 2015
Open Studios offer the public an opportunity to see the studios of the current Rome Prize Fellows in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, design, historic preservation and conservation, and visual arts and attend a reading by the two Rome Prize Fellows in literature.
Participants in the Open Studios are: Firat Erdim and Vincent Snyder in architecture; Carin Goldberg in design; John Maciuika in historic preservation and conservation; Kim Karlsrud and Daniel Philips and Adam Kuby in landscape architecture; and Corin Hewitt, Cynthia Madansky, Dave McKenzie, and Abinadi Meza in visual arts. Also participating in the Open Studios are Italian Affiliated Fellows in the Arts Francesca Grilli and Giorgia Zanellato and Dutch Affiliated Fellow Architecture Donna van Milligen Bielke.
The reading, given by Krys Lee, Liz Moore, and Claudia Durastanti, will take place at 6:30pm in the Salone.
Additionally, the exhibition Nero su Bianco will also be open. Works installed in various areas inside and outside the McKim, Mead & White Building interrogate the state of race and identity in contemporary Italy. The show features an international array of artists, many of them with strong ties to the Academy.
