AAR presents Women and Ruins: Archaeology, Photography, and Landscape, the first exhibition dedicated to the influence of a group of trailblazing women who helped record archaeology and landscapes from new vantage points.
Fellow Shoptalks are a forum in which Rome Prize winners and Italian Fellows present their work to each other. Shoptalks are occasionally streamed live on Zoom and posted to the Academy’s YouTube channel.

The annual New York Gala celebrates the extraordinary innovation, scholarship, and exchange of ideas that have taken place at the Academy since 1894. Proceeds from the evening support the Academy, which provides time and space for the world’s best thinkers, scholars, and artists to create and imagine a better future.
Ten U.S. premieres by Italian and Italy-based artists, curated by 2025 Italian Fellows Francesco Urbano Ragazzi. Dreamlike and spectral, the program transforms darkness into a space of listening, guiding viewers from colonial pasts to imagined futures.
The Academy’s signature series of events, Conversations/Conversazioni: From the American Academy in Rome, convenes leading artists, scholars, designers, historians, and museum leaders for frank, wide-ranging discussions on a variety of topics in the arts and humanities.
A collaboration with Dartmouth, this gathering will immerse participants in the complexities and intersections of food systems, culture, and sustainability.
