At the Edge of Empire: The Fate of Foreign Affairs; an evening with Edward Wong of the New York Times
Co-moderated by Tsao Family Fellows Jenny Lin (2025) and John Delury (2024).
Edward Wong is diplomatic correspondent for the New York Times and author of the acclaimed memoir, At the Edge of Empire: A Family's Reckoning with China. A former Harvard Nieman Fellow and journalism teacher at Princeton and UC Berkeley, Wong spent a decade reporting from China for the Times, including as Beijing Bureau Chief. Now covering global affairs and the State Department, Wong will talk about his book, about the precarious state of US-China relations, and about what to expect as a new administration takes the reins of American foreign policy.
