For his Open Studios, Zachary Fabri presents an installation about his experience making art at the Academy during the Palestine/Israel war. Dirty wine glasses and cappuccino cups are placed on the floor and on the ruins of the atrium. A large, stretched canvas depicts a letter that acts like a personal statement. During the evening, the artist will invite the audience to contribute to the sculpture in a participatory and solidarity event. In the gallery, Fabri will show a new video work and two drawings.

Fabri also presents Grave Goods for the Common Man in Imperial Rome. The work includes a photograph of the crate containing a skeleton found in AAR’s Bass Garden in 1999. The bronzed pestle and mortar on top of the printed image contains Fabri’s hair. The black ankle boots have a branch from an olive branch from the Bass Garden. The olive tree is a common tree in Italy and the Mediterranean. Both elements—natural and physical—have been cut and stand as a piece offering for these times of war.

Bicchieri di vino usati e tazze di cappuccini sono nell’atrio. Una grande tela rappresenta una lettera che funziona da statement personale. Fabri presenta anche Grave Goods for the Common Man in Imperial Rome. Il lavoro include una fotografia di una cassa contenente uno scheletro umano trovato nel 1999 nel Bass Garden, dell’American Academy. Il pestello ed il mortaio di bronzo, contiene invece un pezzo dei capelli di fabri. Gli stivali neri hanno rami di ulivo tagliati dal Bass Garden. L’ulivo è un albero comune in Italia e nel Mediterraneo. I due elementi – naturali e corporei – sono stati tagliati e rappresentano un’offerta di pace in questi tempi di
