Jimmy Moffat is the Co Founder of Art and Commerce, an international creative agency representing artists working in multiple disciplines across fashion, fine art, editorial and advertising. Started in 1982 in New York City, Art and Commerce has represented, among others, Annie Leibovitz, Robert Mapplethorpe, Steven Meisel, Laurie Simmons, Edward Enninful, Glen O'Brien, Stephen Shore, Rahim Fortune, Rafael Pavarotti, Sam Rock and Ib Kamara. Long committed to discovering and nurturing emerging talent, he founded The Art and Commerce Festival of Emerging Photographers.  

In 1997 he co founded ICP at The Point, a photography school with studio and dark rooms in a community center, The Point CDC, in the Hunts Point district of the South Bronx. In 2001 he joined the faculty of the Photography Department of The School of Visual Arts, first teaching third year Critique and then Senior Thesis. In 2010, he co founded and Co Chaired the SVA MPS Fashion Photography Program, the first graduate program in Fashion Photography in the U.S.  

After bringing photography classes, taught by graduates from ICP at The Point, to public high schools in Red Hook, Brooklyn, he founded Red Hook Labs, a public benefit corporation in 2015. Comprised of a School, Gallery and Studio,  Labs School offered classes in photography and film making to students from the public school system and local neighborhood as well as workshops and programming for the broader photography community. Labs Gallery staged an annual New Artists exhibition and first time solo exhibitions for established artists as well as an annual Contemporary African Photography show and a yearly collaboration with FOAM Museum's Talent Program. In 2017 Red Hook Labs opened in Downtown Los Angeles, while annually teaching photography and film making to students in underserved communities in London and Amsterdam. Red Hook Labs closed during the pandemic.  

Jimmy Moffat is now a consultant, focusing on photography curation, education initiatives, emerging artists programming and community building.
