The Power of Forgiveness in Christian Communities (ca. 200–650)
Project description

Kevin Uhalde received his PhD from Princeton University. His project is an investigation into the history of sin and forgiveness in Christian communities during late antiquity. He will look into how the idea and practice of penance changed the way people thought about justice, both in a practical nature and in the abstract. The project, which will result in a book to be published in 2007, is part of a larger, ongoing study of episcopal authority in early medieval communities.
