2011 Centenary Celebration
In 2011, the American Academy in Rome celebrates the one hundredth anniversary of the decision of the Trustees of the American Academy in Rome and the Managing Committee of American School of Classical Studies in Rome to unite so they could together more effectively advance the study, investigation and practice of the arts and humanities. One hundred years ago the Academy also received by bequest Villa Aurelia and began to establish a permanent home in Rome.
To mark this anniversary, the American Academy in Rome hosted the Centenary Celebration Dinner to benefit the American Academy in Rome.
In celebrating one hundred years the Academy renews its commitment to the arts and humanities, intellectual and artistic freedom, innovation and interdisciplinary and cultural exchange.
