Scharoun Ensemble Berlin 2012
The Scharoun Ensemble Berlin, comprised of members of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, specializes in a repertoire of classical, Romantic, twentieth-century modernist, and contemporary music. The year 2012 marks the fourth collaboration between the ensemble and the American Academy in Rome and will include performances of work by Samuel Barber Rome Prize Fellow Sean Friar and Elliott Carter Rome Prize Fellow Lei Liang, as well as work by Martin Brody (2002 Resident) Antonín Dvořák, Sergei Prokofiev, Franz Schreker, and Carl Maria von Weber.
