A Woman Like That: Artemisia Gentileschi

A Woman Like That: Artemisia Gentileschi

A scene from A Woman Like That

The filmmaker Ellen Weissbrod merges her coming of middle-age story with her pursuit of the facts and fiction regarding the art and life of the seventeenth-century female painter Artemisia Gentileschi. The film screening will be followed by a conversation with the filmmaker and several scholars who appear in the film: Elizabeth Cohen, Patrizia Cavazzini, Vernon Hyde Minor, FAAR'00, and Michele di Sivo. The event is a collaboration between the University of California's Rome Study Center and the American Academy in Rome.
