Project description

This project continues my artworks in film and photography depicting the human in space and time. The final result will be a film installation using a single-channel three-dimensional projection; depicting a 16mm film projector projecting onto a flat two dimensional screen with reference to renaissance paintings that incorporate the illusion of perspective and depth. The public will enter the exhibition space with 3D glasses and can walk around the hanging projection screen in the center of the room. The project evolves around the understanding of perspective in painting; being able to render the illusion of three dimensions onto a two-dimensional (flat) surface, occurring simultaneously with the discovery of dimensions in mathematics and a radically different model of the universe in physics. Centuries later these ideas also began to break down with the advent of twentieth-century science and art.
