Patrons

Patrons are individuals who are passionate about the arts and humanities and the interdisciplinary, international context of the American Academy in Rome. Patrons benefit from a rich and exclusive program of events in New York and Rome drawn from the work of Fellows and Residents. Patrons’ dues provide leadership support of the Fellows, Residents, and programs of the AAR. Participation is at two levels: President’s Council and Chairman’s Council.

Events for Patrons of the AAR take place in both the United States and Italy.

Friends of the AAR

Friends of the AAR support the dynamic activities of the American Academy in Rome and take part in exclusive cultural and social events with the Academy community of artists and scholars. Yearly membership dues provide important support for the Fellows, Residents, and programs, ensuring that the Academy continues to thrive as a world-class nexus for ideas, creativity, and innovation.

Events for Friends take place exclusively in Italy.

Friends of the Library

Friends of the Library bring together individuals who believe that the Arthur and Janet C. Ross Library is one of the Academy’s greatest assets, and that a strong library is the foundation of the creative and scholarly process. Membership dues support the Arthur and Janet C. Ross Library and help to further independent research and study in one of the world’s strongest collections of ancient Mediterranean art and archaeology, classical literature, ancient topography, and other related fields.

Friends enjoy exclusive events and special library privileges.
