Please join us on Thursday, October 17 at 5:00pm ET for an in-person Rome Prize Information Session in Washington, DC, hosted by Howard University. All prospective Rome Prize applicants in the metro area and beyond are welcome. (This event is not limited to faculty or students at Howard.)

The information session is free and open, but we request that you please register in advance. You will receive an email confirmation.

The program will include a presentation about the Rome Prize by AAR President Peter N. Miller, followed by a discussion with Elka Stevens (2023 Affiliated Fellow), associate professor of visual culture and studio art, and other invited guests. An extended Q&A will follow.

The final deadline to apply for the Rome Prize for the 2025–26 academic year is November 15, 2024. This event offers the opportunity to get your questions answered before the deadline.

Rome Prize Fellowships are available in ancient studies, architecture, design, historic preservation and conservation, landscape architecture, literature, medieval studies, modern Italian studies, musical composition, Renaissance and early modern studies, and visual arts. The Tsao Family Rome Prize will also be awarded to a humanities scholar whose project explores the relationship between Chinese and Mediterranean philosophical traditions.
