Claudia Chemello & Paul Mardikian

Claudia Chemello & Paul Mardikian by Sean Burkholder

Project Description

This collaborative project explores the concept and practice of in situ preservation, which involves protecting archaeological remains within their original context rather than removing them permanently. The work specifically focuses on underwater cultural heritage, presenting narrative photography and projected images related to the Clotilda, the last known ship to bring captives from Africa to the United States.
