In addition to Rome Prize and Italian Fellows, the American Academy in Rome hosts recipients of Affiliated Fellowships awarded by educational and cultural organizations around the world.

For an extra fee, Member Institutions have the right to name an Affiliated Fellow to be in residence at the Academy for a period of four weeks to three months. Affiliated Fellows receive housing (single room with private bath), meals on the same plan as Rome Prize Fellows, the opportunity to sign up for Academy trips and tours, invitations to Academy events, and access to Academy scholarly resources including the Library, Photographic Archive, and the Archaeological Study Collection.

Affiliated Fellows add to the diversity of the Academy’s artistic and scholarly community, and these fellowships are coordinated by the organizations for which they are named.

Applications to a select number of Affiliated Fellowships are conducted through the Academy’s office in New York. The full list of current fellowships is below.
