At the Academy, I built on my portfolio of digitally documented cultural representations. My work focuses on using laser scanning, photogrammetry, and 3D photography tools to capture cultural experiences and to translate them into virtual models. This allows for the democratization of traditionally inaccessible spaces through mediums of virtual and augmented reality. By making the experience of traditionally physical resources and spaces available through digital media we can transcend economic, physical, and age barriers.

While at the Academy, I developed the Emergence exhibition, which was the digitization of spaces and objects that spanned across scales and time periods. It involved digitizing ancient artifacts from the Norton-Van Buren Archaeological Collection, the eight ancient Egyptian tekhenu around Rome, the spatial experiences of the Academy itself, the headquarters of the Tuskegee Airmen in Romitelli, Italy, and portions of the Pyramids at Giza. All were presented as either video, virtual reality, augmented reality, or print media. The exhibit will continue to be developed for display throughout 2024.
