George Stoll in the news, around the world with KieranTimberlake
There’s a nice piece on visual artist George Stoll, FAAR 2005, in the October 2014 issue of Elle Decor magazine. His manipulated objects include, among other things, toilet paper, sponges, and bones. Stoll’s work with Tupperware brings to mind the late Morison Cousins, FAAR 1985, whose designs for Tupperware took the company from the kitchen to the Museum of Modern Art.
A review of current projects at KierenTimberlake, the architectural firm of Stephen Kieran, FAAR 1981 and James Timberlake, FAAR 1983, turns up news that the US Embassy in London is well under construction with a projected completion date of 2017. It has just been announced that the firm will redesign Love Park in Philadelphia which was established by city planner Edmund Bacon, longtime Academy Trustee. And at Morgantina in Sicily the firm is working with site director Malcolm Bell III, FAAR 1970, RAAR 1989, and former Professor-in-Charge at the Academy, to invent new methods for recording archaeological data and managing sites.
