While in Rome, Christopher Macevitt will continue his study of the impact of the loss of the Holy Land on the diverse Christian communities of the Eastern Mediterranean in the fourteenth century. He will also look into how Western European leaders used the memory of Jerusalem to craft new policies toward the Holy Land.
